Sidekick Outlook
My sidekick will look like a big cat, having a posture similar to cheetah. I decided that it's approximate height will be 4 feet (4.5 measuring to top of the head) and length will be 5.5 feet (11 including the tail which is just as long as the body). My height is about 5.5 feet converted from metric measurements I'm familiar to. Making it in ft was easier to imagine and cast on a grid.
It's facial details will remain as simple as possible, instead of them will be kind of a screen (just like Eva's face from Wall-E or Zero's from Borderlands) which will cast off the face, or rather it's eyes, nose and some patterns around. With these eyes (or any other icons appearing, like X, ? or !) he'll be showing 'emotions'.
It's body will be partially covered, in white plates, non metallic because of magnetic field it uses (they still should be made of a resistible material though). The parts that aren't covered in plates are abdomen, inside of ears, neck, insides of legs and under paws. These will remain flexible (except ears) and otherwise wouldn't be able to move. The material for abdomen and neck coverage will be rubbery.
I was thinking about making the insides open and cover a human but now I highly doubt it will work, so I won't include this part in final piece.
The tail will probably be the most challenging piece as it is meant to be a thick spring strictly conjoined into a tail without gaps, and it is meant to shrink into a funnel shape, from which the turbo mode will be activated (the rest of the time will remain in stable form to fulfill the role of an average cat tail - emotions and balance).
On the top of its back is sort of a bumpy constricted-8 shape to stand on. When the robot is about to hoover its legs bend close to body and the magnetic field activates keeping it in air. In this form it looks quite funnily but does its job as a hoover-board.
